CHINA REPORTS NEW COVID-19 CASES
INFECTED SURGE OVER 15,000 CASES IN A DAY!
China noted a surge of infections and deaths from COVID-19 Thursday after changing way they tallied the data. This further clouds the pandemic which has stirred fear as it has spread to over 25 countries.
The spike came after 2 days in which the amount of new cases dropped as well as brought very little clarity for researchers to estimate the trajectory of the outbreak.
What we need is some consistency over time to give us an idea of what’s actually happening. Is transmission happening or is it not?

The death toll in China from COVID-19 is now at 1,367, up 254 from the day before, and the number of confirmed cases surged to 59,804, up 15,152.
This increase you’ve all seen in the last 24 hours is largely down to how cases are being diagnosed and reported

China’s National Health Commission said officials began tallying cases using a lower bar of “clinical diagnosis.” It appears to count cases based on medical analyses and lung imaging and not relying solely on laboratory results. More than 13,000 of the newly-reported infections were a result of the new way of counting.
Clearly in Wuhan, the health system is under extreme pressure and so the first priority has to be the patient
