war again tensions between the west and China show no sign of easing interdependence and mistrust continue to mix uneasily triggers are many and varied including human rights relations with Russia via V Ukraine and of course microchip manufacturing and the big one Taiwan it says then there is the rhetoric U.S treasury secretary Janet Yellen is in Beijing for talks aimed at easing some of these tensions it's ironic but not unprecedented that the exact same time president XI is telling the troops of the Eastern theater command the one that faces Taiwan that they need to step up their combat Readiness and persist in thinking and handling military issues from a political perspective dare to fight be good at fighting and resolutely defend our national sovereignty security and development interests this is not the first time she has timed an info Ops stunt like this to coincide with the Diplomatic visit and neither is he the

first Chinese president to do it who Jin Tao did something similar in 2011 telling his military to quote make extended preparations for Warfare it has happened many times since says that one can make a case that this constant need to posture this way masks a lack of confidence she's military numbers and rate of build might be eye-watering but what experience underpins them Russia's efforts in Ukraine have shown repeatedly that spectacular parades do not equate to hardened fighting competence now I I think that's a funny part for them to kind of just throw in there we don't actually know what's going on we have media companies around the world essentially telling us different and conflicting stories about who is actually winning over there we know that there's some sort of level of shadiness going on with pretty much all of the countries involved in this whether it be by proxy or directly and we know that there have been people that have been busted for several uh really really huge

scandals on both sides if there weren't thrown off a roof so as far as China is preparing for war it's like this is a message that is going to be pushed out a lot and I guess that it's the hope that all of it is just rhetoric that all of it is just to scare us or it is for some sort of other agenda uh meanwhile everything in our world is changing very rapidly around us we have talked about how China has essentially grown to now have the largest Navy in the world they are practicing knocking out our carriers in the deserts they are practicing in ports with Port busting Torpedoes they're doing a whole lot not to mention they already have many of the advanced weapons that the Russian uh of course enemies have and of course all of our others like super emps and even fractional orbital bombardment systems that can go around the planet and then knock out our grid not to mention there is talk and debates whether they have been putting back doors and things we

we're making we're making progress okay I just need to get get on it all right perfect AI robots could play Future role as companions in Care Homes so your uh your mother or somebody you love may be in a home with of course an AI robot Nadine a social robot powered by artificial intelligence AI with human-like gestures and expressions could have an important future role to play in tending to the sick and elderly according to the professor who helped invent it Nadia Megan Thalman a robot expert from the University of Geneva who served as the model for Nadine's dark brown eyes and auburn hair said Nadine and Robert robots like it could prove more effective than human carers it says she Nadine has time 24 hours a day the others have no time she was speaking on the sidelines of a conference organized by the international telecommunications Union in Geneva to make the case for AI and robots helping to reach Global goals

such as health so we're talking about a nurse that essentially is ready 24 7 and that can do tasks that possibly humans may not even want to do uh this is of course assuming that the technology gets to a point where they are they can move like a human they can do the human things well they're already at that point but right now it's so expensive that if you had an adult or a AI that could move like an adult human then essentially you're spending probably a million or more dollars right as far as being able to wash and bathe an elderly or feed them or to do things with dexterity that of course humans can just do right off the bat Global competition for nurses and carers is heating up especially after cv19 and some countries are experiencing a staffing crisis in Care Homes which some think that humanoid robots could one day ease so one thing that's really like this kind of disgusting to me about this is not only would we uh first of all

sending your family members to a nursing home is something that is controversial in the first place we actually have a family member that basically everybody is chipping in so they don't have to do that and I think that that will happen until they are not around like everybody is going to switch off and it's actually stopped things like you know going on trips or or going pretty much anywhere because uh they need 24-hour attention right as far as this goes it sounds like a great thing for like that uh but people already think that sending your family member to a nursing home is not a great thing imagine in the future when they send you to a nursing home and it's all robots uh that's pretty disgusting and I think it would be a very lonely experience and I I think it's just uh I think it's a terrifying thought frankly uh but will it happen I do think so I mean technology is only going in One Direction with this and essentially they believe that robots are going to replace a ton of humans which Speaking of which robots say that

they won't steal jobs and rebel against humans actually Dex had a great point on this as far as they brought these I believe it was nine different robots and they asked the AI artificial intelligence uh essentially what they said it says robots presented in an AI Forum said on Friday that they expected to increase in number and help solve Global problems and would not steal humans jobs or rebel against us but in the world's first human robot press conference they gave mixed responses on whether they should submit to stricter regulation the nine human Aid human humanoid robots gathered at the AI for good conference in Geneva where organizers are seeking to make the case for artificial intelligence and the robots it is powering to help resolve some of the world's biggest challenges such as disease and hunger of course this was the same event where this previous woman said hey we could use these for nursing homes now they asked the Raw robots it says

um you know that could be all sorts of things that could be from Tick Tock uh that could be leveraging um all sorts of data that we all use every day whether you're you know a lot of people think that you know maybe that they they don't have all these apps these social media apps that you know um the Googles and and the baidu's aren't collecting all their data but that's just not true um you know everybody has a social footprint on the internet and not correlated with your genetics data your health records you know your health records that you sign off with your hospital you don't know and we're starting to learn more you don't know who your hospitals are connected with and where that you know data is being sold to third parties and big Pharma and we're big Pharma selling it um so it gets kind of scary with how much data is out there and being able to correlate it all and um you know on on the reverse end create weapons against

that are showing this and they're saying that they were caught off guard back in 2018 and you know with all of the deep fake technology that's come out so as we've seen you know deep fakes can range from a photograph to um you know an audio clip to now we've seen videos that have been created like I think there was a Tom Cruise one that was created that wasn't him at all but it was completely deep faked uh it you know in quick glance if you probably think it was him but you know if you looked really close it probably wasn't but all of this stuff is happening um and it's actually uh happening in a much bigger way now than to the point that you know a lot of people are are there being uh targeted with them some people are even being targeted with uh what you would call like a ransomware but not uh the traditional cyber version of it but they'll you know create a deep fake about them and then turn around and say if you don't pay this up or you don't do that then we're going to release this video of you but it's not a real video um but anyway the back to the point the

um you know the the question they had was do we have the ability to effectively detect this uh one FBI official from the Bureau of operation and Technology division which handles Advanced technical issues such as hacking tools wrote in a July 2018 email uh and the um doctored videos could send fake news crisis into overdrive lawmakers warned so no was the response they had no idea how to deal with this as it was as it was happening um and presumably maybe they have a little better idea now but I still think that uh this is such a new thing and it's evolving so quickly especially with the advancement of AI and what AI can bring to the table from both photo video edio audio um as well as just creation of of new information uh we're we're in a new realm and this is something that has really been difficult for uh our own

agencies who have to analyze this stuff and look at it and not not just analyzing it for you know um what we would think on social media looking for who's talking about what and going after the bad guys as they label some people in our society but even dealing with you know just standard crimes and having to know you know is this piece of evidence real or not and you know we've we've jokingly said it's going to happen that people are going to stand up in court and say I didn't say that that was a deep Faker that's not me on video somebody else must have made that and you know having the ability to detect that and prove a piece of evidence is legit or not uh is something that they're having to run in they're having to deal with and they were completely caught off guard and I think to this day still it probably are on how they're dealing with it well as far as it kind of it made me raise my eyebrow as far as like if uh if they were caught off guard I wonder how long the U.S government has known you
